WRDA 2000 Programmatic Authority

Amount authorized for Programmatic Authority under WRDA 2000 is up to $25,000,000 for each project, not to exceed a total of $206,000,000 (Federal and non-Federal)

Facts:

  • Similar to the authorization received in 1996 for the Everglades Ecosystem Restoration Critical Projects
  • Needed to implement projects which would "produce independent, immediate, and substantial restoration, preservation, and protection benefits"
  • Would expedite some components of the Plan
  • Eligibility - Projects with a total cost of up to $25,000,000
  • Total Cost of Programmatic Authority - $206,000,000 (Federal and non-Federal)
  • Projects would not be constructed until completion of Project Implementation Report, National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) compliance, and public involvement.  Below is a list of the Programmatic Authority Projects.
