C-111 N Spreader Canal
Description
Modify the C-111 (South Dade) Project by increasing the capacity of C-111N and extending the canal two miles under U.S. Highway 1 and Card Sound Road into the Model Lands thus improving water delivery and connectivity. Backfill lower end of the C-111 canal and remove S-197 (structure). The project includes construction, modification or removal of levees, canals, pumps, water control structures, culverts and a 3,200 acre stormwater treatment area. This project was also expected to reduce impacts of agricultural runoff by providing treatment as well as reduce damaging wet season flows in C-111 to Card Sound and Florida Bay.
