Programmatic Regulations Public Workshop

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will hold a public workshop regarding the process for developing programmatic regulations.

PURPOSE: To inform the public of the Corps of Engineers actions regarding development of the programmatic regulations referenced in the Water Resources Development Act of 2000 and to gather public input on the draft outline of the regulations.

BACKGROUND: WRDA 2000 contains a number of provisions concerning implementation of the Comprehensive Everglades Restoration Plan. Section 601(h) involves the assurance of project benefits. In order to ensure that water generated by the CERP is available for restoration, section 601(h) contains a number of requirements, including development of an agreement between the President and the Governor of Florida and the promulgation of programmatic regulations within two years.
