Lake Okeechobee and Everglades Agricultural Area Water Control Plan Public Meeting

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Jacksonville District will offer a series of four public meetings to present information on the revised draft Supplemental Environmental Impact Statement and proposed operational revisions to the Lake Okeechobee and Everglades Agricultural Area Water Control Plan, used to regulate lake levels and discharges from Lake Okeechobee.

The meetings are scheduled as follows: A series of public meetings is planned, during which Corps representatives will present the revised plan and receive public comments. 

Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. and the presentation will begin at 7:00 p.m., followed by a period for public comment. All interested individuals, groups and agencies are encouraged to attend and will be given the opportunity to provide formal public comment on the revised draft Supplemental Environmental Impact Statement (SEIS) and the proposed operational revisions to Lake Okeechobee Regulation Schedule. In accordance with the approved study scope, only potential operational changes to the current water management system were considered; structural modifications were not considered.
