Partnerships/Sponsors:
Project Partnership Agreements
Project Partnership Agreements are required to construct the 68 individual CERP projects. The Master Agreement provides a broad framework of the partnership with the South Florida Water Management District. Each CERP project with the SFWMD requires a Project Partnership Agreement for the federal government to start construction. The agreement spells out the terms, conditions and responsibilities specific to that restoration project.

The first CERP Project Partnership Agreement was signed on Aug. 13, 2009 for the Picayune Strand Restoration Project in Collier County, Fla. The project will restore 55,000 acres of wetland and upland habitat in rural Collier County, an area critical to the survival of the endangered Florida panther. The signing of the Project Partnership Agreement allows the Corps to move forward with construction of the Merritt Pump Station, and the restoration of thousands of acres of wetlands. Pump station construction began in early 2010.
