South Florida Water Management District (SFWMD)
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and the South Florida Water Management District executed a Design Agreement covering all aspects of engineering and design for the Comprehensive Plan on May 12, 2000.

The Comprehensive Plan is comprised of 68 major components and six pilot projects representing literally hundreds of project elements. Some of these components have been regrouped to make the Master Implementation Schedule consistent with the Master Program Management Plan.

This regrouping resulted in 43 projects for which the South Florida Water Management District is the local sponsor. Not all of the 68 components are included in the 43 projects - approximately ten components will become projects (with their respective partnering agreements) with local sponsors other than the South Florida Water Management District.
