Greater Everglades Ecosystem Restoration (GEER) Conference 2008
GEER 2008 Starts July 28
A five-day meeting about the Everglades will be held July 28 to August 1 in Naples, Fla. The 2008 Greater Everglades Ecosystem Restoration Planning, Policy and Science Meeting is for anyone interested in learning more about the Everglades and participating in an exchange of information.
This year's topic is advancing the science to achieve success. The event will feature presentations, panel discussions, poster sessions and numerous opportunities to exchange knowledge and share concerns. GEER 2008 brings to you SEVERAL EXCITING plenary and coffee-house sessions featuring invited panelists and speakers, as well as a symposium on biogeochemistry and contaminants, topical workshops, concurrent sessions and poster sessions.
GEER Webcasting BEGINS Tuesday, July 29 at 1:30pm with the Opening Plenary, featuring Ms. Lynn Scarlett, Deputy Secretary of the Department of the Interior and Dr. Mark Myers, Director, US Geological Survey.
We will be WEBCASTING all presentations delivered in the ROYAL PALM IV & V meeting room throughout the entire conference. (1:30pm on Tuesday, July 28 through 12 noon, Friday August 1). The goal of this webcast is to allow an opportunity for all restoration practitioners who can't make the trip to Naples a chance to participate in the primary sessions. Remember - only those presentations delivered in Royal Palm IV & V will be webcasted.
