In the Spotlight:
Public Participation Web page for Central Everglades Planning Project now available
30 Nov 2011
The Central Everglades Planning Project is now under way. The goal is to deliver — within two years — finalized plans for a suite of restoration projects in the central Everglades ready for congressional authorization as part of the Comprehensive Everglades Restoration Plan (CERP).
Public participation is a major component of the Central Everglades Planning Project. A number of public workshops are planned to keep the public informed and engaged as active participants. The South Florida Ecosystem Restoration Task Force, in coordination with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and South Florida Water Management District, has created a Web page to provide information on upcoming public workshops and related documents and can be accessed at http://www.sfrestore.org/cepp/cepp.html.
In addition to the public participation Web page, information on the Central Everglades Planning Project will also be available on www.evergladesplan.org. Both websites will be frequently updated during the Central Everglades Planning Project.
